Memory Screenings
Memory screenings are a collaborative
effort spearheaded by the Alzheimer's Foundation of America to promote early
detection of Alzheimer's disease and related illnesses, and to encourage
appropriate intervention.
Our goals are to:
-
Provide free memory
screenings to those with memory concerns.
-
Eliminate some of
the stigma and fears associated with dementia.
-
Encourage those
with memory problems to follow up with an exam
by a qualified physician or other healthcare
professional for an accurate diagnosis,
treatment, social services and community
resources.
-
Allay fears of
those who do not have a problem.
-
Educate the public
about Alzheimer's disease and successful aging.
Memory Screenings are
a first step toward care. A limited number of
appointment times will be in the middle of the day,
varying slightly in each location.
